Spatial Audio & 3D Radar

Limited in browser

Experience 3D binaural spatial positioning rendered directly in stereo headphones using Web Audio Head-Related Transfer Function (HRTF).

What to listen for

  • Front vs Rear Localization: Sounds positioned behind you feature subtle high-frequency attenuation simulating natural ear pinna filtering.
  • 360° Orbit: The audio beacon should move smoothly in a full circular orbit around your head.
  • Browser Environment: Uses Web Audio HRTF positioning. Native mobile apps can additionally access hardware motion head-tracking sensors.

Technical context

Binaural Rendering: Web Audio API models sound direction via HRTF algorithms.

Operating-system spatial audio (e.g. Apple Spatial Audio, Dolby Atmos) and hardware head-tracking sensors operate at the OS level and are not accessible in standard browsers.
